Senior-Level Software / Network Architect Engineer – (Space Technology)
Location: Los Angeles, California, United States

Your Role
As the Senior-Level Software / Network Architect Engineer, you will oversee the design, development, and integration of communication systems onboard a constellation of spacecraft. You’ll manage and collaborate with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal engineering teams, ensuring all systems are delivered on time, tested thoroughly, and meet the highest quality standards. This role provides an exciting opportunity to lead complex network solutions for space-based systems while working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities
– Lead the software development and integration of routers, radios, and laser communication devices across a constellation of spacecraft.
– Manage suppliers and subcontractors to ensure successful system development and testing.
– Collaborate with consultants, subcontractors, and internal engineering teams to develop and maintain product development plans, provide updates, and meet project milestones.
– Design and implement simulation and testing approaches for networking within the spacecraft constellation.
– Define KPIs for contractors and internal development teams.
– Coordinate feature delivery schedules and integration points across the program.
– Develop and maintain staffing plans with senior leadership.
– Ensure best practices for feedback collection and process improvement.
– Establish and maintain software development standards to ensure the highest quality deliverables that meet customer requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree + 10 years of experience in software engineering, network architecture, computer science, aerospace engineering, or a related technical field.
– 3+ years of experience managing projects and interfacing with external contractors.
– Strong understanding of network software and the software development lifecycle.
– Experience using Jira for software development management.
– Systems engineering expertise, including systems trades, requirements management, and interface management.
– Ability to obtain SECRET clearance.

Desired Skills and Qualifications
– Master’s degree in aerospace, computer science, electrical engineering, or other relevant technical disciplines.
– Experience with Cyber Security controls, encryption, Docker, Kubernetes, and DevSecOps.
– Familiarity with SDA NEBULA architectures.
– Project management qualifications (PMP, APMP, etc.).
– Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, systemic approach.
– Active SECRET or TS/SCI clearance is a plus.

Additional Requirements
– Ability to commute to various facilities as needed.
– Physical ability to work in environments with moderate noise levels and occasional exposure to dust and fumes.
