We are looking for an experienced Principal RF Communication Engineer to lead the development of cutting-edge satellite communication systems. Key Responsibilities

  • Research, develop, and implement advanced RF communication algorithms and technologies.
  • Lead the design and analysis of satellite communication systems, focusing on L1/L2 algorithms, RF impairments, and baseband processing.
  • Develop and optimize digital signal processing techniques for space communications.
  • Conduct simulations and performance evaluations using Python, C++, and modern vector processing engines.
  • Work closely with FPGA and hardware teams to integrate and test RF communication solutions.
  • Analyze RF system performance and optimize architectures for efficiency and reliability.
  • Support technical strategy, including defining research priorities and driving innovation.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience of R&D experience in space communications
  • Strong background in digital signal processing, communication theory, and statistics.
  • Proficiency in Python & C++ for algorithm development and simulation.
  • Deep understanding of RF impairments and their impact on baseband processing.
  • Experience with satellite communication standards (NR NTN, DVB-S2X, CCSDS).
  • Knowledge of FPGA architecturesand modern vector processing engines.
  • Ability to hold a security clearance.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience designing adaptive modulation and coding schemes.
  • Practical knowledge of machine learning applications in RF systems.
  • Hands-on experience with qualification and acceptance testing for new designs.
  • Familiarity with signal processing for interference mitigation.
  • Ability to work autonomously and lead large, complex projects.

Eligibility
Applicants must be U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents due to government space technology export regulations. A security clearance may be required.
