Contracts Manager – Space Sector (Satellite/Earth Observation Experience)

Location: Europe (Remote)

Employment Type: Full-Time Permanent

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Contracts Manager / Project Manager to join our client in the new space sector (Earth Observation Satellite industry). The ideal candidate will engage with customers to provide critical information for mission design, manage program execution, and ensure transparent communication of contract status and requirements to all stakeholders. This role requires a proactive individual who can foster strong customer relationships while delivering on contractual commitments.

Key Responsibilities:

Contract Management & Communication:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers regarding contractual matters, ensuring timely and accurate communication.
  • Manage end-to-end contract lifecycle, including proposal development, negotiation, execution, amendments, and closeout.
  • Proactively monitor and communicate contract status, requirements, risks, and compliance updates to internal and external stakeholders.

Mission Design Support:

  • Collaborate with mission design teams to understand customer needs and integrate contractual obligations into program planning and execution.
  • Provide customers with essential programmatic and contractual information to support their decision-making during mission design phases.

Program Execution Oversight:

  • Ensure all contract deliverables, schedules, and performance metrics are met or exceeded throughout program execution.
  • Work closely with program management, engineering, and legal teams to resolve contractual issues or disputes and ensure alignment with project goals.

Customer Relationship Management:

  • Foster and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with customers and key stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Proactively address customer concerns, anticipate future needs, and ensure satisfaction with contract execution and communication.

Compliance & Reporting:

  • Ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies related to government and commercial contracts.
  • Prepare and deliver regular contract performance reports, identifying risks and opportunities for improvement.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in contract management, with a preference for experience in the space, satellite, or earth observation sectors.
  • Solid understanding of government and commercial contracting practices.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to distill complex information for diverse audiences.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on building and maintaining customer relationships.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organisational and analytical abilities.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience with contracts related to satellite manufacturing, launch services, or earth observation data/imagery.
  • Familiarity with mission design concepts and technical program execution.
  • Bachelor’s Honours Engineering Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronic, Aerospace or Electronic Engineering
