Location: USA Remote (with occasional client/supplier visits)
Package: Competitive Rate Based on Experience, Long Term Contract

The Role

As a Platform Systems Engineer, you will be a critical contributor, offering leadership in platform architecture, requirements management, and subsystem integration. You’ll be at the core of designing and overseeing the performance of key satellite subsystems, including:

  • TT&C: Telemetry, Tracking & Telecommand
  • C&DH: Control & Data Handling
  • EPS: Electrical Power System
  • ADCS: Attitude Determination & Control System
  • PROP: Electrical Propulsion
  • TCS: Thermal Control System
  • FSW: Flight Software

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and participate in platform architecture definition, performance analysis, and subsystem integration.
  • Provide support for bids and proposals, offering technical insight and leadership.
  • Monitor supplier designs and progress through regular reviews.
  • Define and maintain the verification and validation matrix, systems budgets, and equipment specifications.
  • Lead program milestone reviews, including EQSR, SRR, PDR, and CDR.
  • Support satellite and platform assembly, integration, and testing (AIT).
  • Attend and contribute to all test reviews (TRR, TRB, DRB) and manage non-conformance reports (NCRs).
  • Oversee platform testing, including EGSE, test supervision, and data analysis.
  • Contribute to DC & RF harness design, as well as platform and payload layout considerations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven design and AIT experience with LEO/MEO satellite systems.
  • Strong understanding of the space environment and orbital mechanics.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of aerospace systems and engineering principles.
  • Hands-on experience with satellite subsystem testing.
  • Familiarity with qualification and acceptance testing for new designs.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage complex projects independently.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to distill complex issues into actionable solutions.
  • Experience supporting spacecraft operations during critical phases.
